more trips around the earth

i painted a picture of a guy who sat opposite me during lunch once.

he radiates hundreds of green shades i can’t fully understand.

it was the calm i didn’t know i needed in my life

so i told myself to keep this as close as possible.

i asked if he wants to melt with me.

he smiles for a brief breath before saying he probably will.

but a wise man says to walk around the earth for a couple of times

before deciding if i want to stand next to him up at the pond.

i know we would be in the water the second i see him in person.

it was a chilly friday evening of november.

his skin was thicker than mine to all these winds.

but i wanted to stand with him in the dark until i really had to leave.

one trip around the sun almost pass

how hasn’t it been a century yet ever since we first talked?

it’s quite otherworldly to believe.

but shadow and moon have their own rules and paces.

so i guess the next two trips around the universe would feel like

two more lifetimes we have to take.
